You can charge new AirPods with your iPhone and iPad: that’s how it works

AirPods 2 wireless chargingUnfortunately, we did not see any new AirPods last October in the Apple event. This lack is probably a good reason. Apple is, in fact, making sure that you can charge the AirPods with your iPad or iPhone. Here’s When to Expect AirPods 2 wireless charging Case.

Apple is likely to bring out improvements to its Airports, including a wireless charging case, in early 2019, with a full upgrade due in 2020.

This is shown by a patent application filed by Patently Apple . It describes how the wireless charging technology works. You first need an iPhone or iPad that works as a charger. Not every generation satisfies: the device must have Qi-wireless charging like the iPhone XS.

Then you place the product you want to charge, like the new AirPods, on the back of the iPhone or iPad. The products make contact and charging starts. It is not clear with how much speed this happens, and how long it takes before you have a full battery.

However, it seems that Apple seriously wants to make work of other devices wireless charging. The company already filed several patents in 2017 which described how you could charge two iPhones together in the future.

This is already possible, but not thanks to Apple. In October 2018, Huawei released the Mate 20 Pro, with which you can charge other smartphones. Although it is a nice addition, it does not work flawlessly. For example, charging other smartphones is still quite slow. For now, it is even more of a gimmick.

About the AirPods 2

In recent months, there are more and more rumors and news about the new wireless headset from Apple outside. The AirPods 2 would be watertight, more health functions and better fit in your ears. The earplugs would come out in early 2019. Do you want to stay informed about the AirPods 2 release?
