From today Huawei suddenly sells a new budget device in the United States. The Huawei Y6 (2019) official costs 149 euros and has a striking, leather back. The smartphone is available immediately.
Huawei Y6 (2019) official: already on sale
A month after the Huawei Y7 (2019) suddenly appeared in the United States, the cheaper Y6 (2019) is now also available. Striking, because the smartphone just pops up at various web stores and – just like the Y7 (2019) – has not yet been announced by Huawei.
The device comes in the colors black, blue and brown. The brown version stands out because of the leatherback, while the other versions have a standard, plastic housing. With that leather back, the Y6 (2019) is reminiscent of the LG G4 from a few years ago.
The Huawei Y6 (2019) has a suggested retail price of 149 euros and is therefore apparently as expensive as its predecessor, the Y6 (2018). The smartphone is in stock at various web stores, including Belsimpel and Coolblue. The main differences between the new Y6 and Y7 are that the latter has a dual camera, larger screen, and more powerful hardware.

More about the Y6 (2019) from Huawei
Under the hood of the Y6 (2019) is a MediaTek MT6761 chip with a quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB of storage space. The latter is further expandable via a micro-SD memory card. The screen is 6.09 inches in size and has a fairly low resolution of 1560 by 720 pixels. However, the notch is relatively small and the edges are fairly thin.
There is a single 13-megapixel camera on the back, an 8-megapixel front camera is available for making selfies. The 3020 mAh battery has to be enough for a full day of use and is charged via the micro USB connection.
Furthermore, the new Huawei Y6 (2019) official has a fingerprint scanner on the back, face recognition via the selfie camera and a headphone jack. By default, the phone runs on Android 9.0 (Pie), although Huawei has put its EMUI skin over it. Golobal Tech published a review of the Huawei Y6 (2018)last year and then rated the device with a 7.
