The OnePlus event is going to share all the plans for the coming months at the end of this month. The manufacturer has invited selected media for a secret event MWC 2019 that is all about ‘tasting the future’.

The exclusive, private event is planned during the Mobile World Congress (MWC), the largest telecom fair that takes place annually in Barcelona. Manufacturers such as Sony, Huawei, and Nokia present their latest smartphones at this show, but OnePlus never did that in the past. Until now, the company has always organized its own events later in the year.
An invitation to various media makes it clear that the brand is planning something this year. “Reimagine the future with OnePlus,” hints the text on the invitation leaked by AllAboutOnePlus. The company promises besides snacks, drinks and a “foretaste of the future”. Further details, such as the exact date, are not mentioned.
OnePlus 5G smartphone on the way
Although the invitation does not provide any concrete information about the content of the event, it strongly suggests that OnePlus wants to catch up with media about its future plans. Probably the company shares at least more information about its first 5G smartphone, a device in a whole new line. OnePlus indicated earlier that the smartphone appears early in the spring, and that it will become one of the first 5G devices.
The OnePlus 7 (without 5G support) will also be presented in the spring, OnePlus announced earlier. That device is probably only shown at a later time. OnePlus presents its top equipment, usually in April or May.
There is also a chance that the manufacturer will come up with a completely new product. For example, CEO Carl Pei announced last year that the company is working on its own TV. Accessories, services or other surprises are also possible. Mobile World Congress takes place at the end of February, so within a few weeks, we will hopefully know more about the plans of the company.
