The recently announced Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2019) will be available in the United States from the end of March, the manufacturer has confirmed. It is a cheap Android tablet of around 200 euros.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 official: affordable entry tablet
The Galaxy Tab A (2019) already appeared in Germany last month but is now going to get a Dutch release. The Android tablet is a cheap alternative for people who find the previously unveiled Galaxy Tab S5e too expensive. From March 29, the tablet is for sale in the United States at a suggested retail price of 209 euros.
The Galaxy Tab A has, just like its predecessor, a 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels (full-HD +). The image fills a very large part of the front, making the tablet relatively compact despite the large screen. There are also Dolby Atmos speakers on either side of the screen, which should ensure good sound. The tablet has a relatively tight 32GB storage space built-in as standard, but that can be expanded with a memory card of up to 512GB.
The device is powered by an Exynos 7904 chipset with eight cores, and 2GB of memory. Samsung also sells a slightly more expensive variant with 3GB of memory and 64GB of storage space, but the suggested retail price is still unknown. The battery capacity is 6150 mAh, slightly smaller than the 7040 mAh battery in the Galaxy Tab S5e. You charge the tablet via USB-C. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 has an 8-megapixel camera on the back. You take selfies with a resolution of 5 megapixels. Finally, the entry tablet runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with Samsung’s own OneUI skin over it.
Galaxy Tab S5e: enhanced alternative
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e, announced last month, will be in the United States from April 5. That is a lot more powerful and equipped with an AMOLED screen of a higher resolution. According to Samsung, the tablet is aimed at use for entertainment. The device has four AKG speakers, one for each corner of the screen. You also receive four months of free YouTube Premium with your purchase, with which you can watch commercial-free videos. The suggested retail price of the Tab S5e is 399 euros.
