Xiaomi will come with a big update for the Pocophone F1 in the coming weeks. Users of the popular device will soon be given the option to capture slow motion videos in 960 frames per second. A handy night mode is also added to the camera app.

Manmohan Chandolu, General Manager of Pocophone in India, announces on Twitter that an update for the Pocophone F1 will appear in the next two weeks. With a new software version, users can film in slow motion with 960 fps. As a result, images are captured extremely delayed, so that you can still see the smallest details. Later, in February, an update should appear that makes it possible to capture 4K videos with 60fps.
In addition, a night mode is added, making the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 better and especially clear photos in low light. Such a function can be found on more and more Android phones: OnePlus has the Nightscape function, for example, while the Google Pixel devices feature Night Sight.
Finally, the update contains solutions for problems with the touch screen and battery life. Xiaomi says that it still has the Widevine Level 1 support, which allows the Pocophone F1 Netflix to stream in HD. At present, the required DRM support is lacking, allowing the smartphone to stream with a maximum resolution of 540p. It is still unclear when the support comes exactly.

For little money, you get a device with fast hardware, a good screen, excellent battery, and fast finger and face scanner. The design and the cameras are not great, but we can live with that. The device does little for, for example, the OnePlus 6 and when you put it next to the Nokia 7 Plus, the Nokia only wins on the software.
