The Honor 20 Lite official is available in the United States from this week. The budget smartphone follows a few weeks before the regular Honor 20 is presented.
Honor 20 Lite official: you need to know this
The Honor 20 Lite official is available from this month at various web stores, including Belsimpel. The device has a suggested retail price of 299 euros and appears in two colors, blue and black. Both appear to appear in mid-May.
The specifications of the device are almost identical to the Huawei P30 Lite, which is recently available in the United States. Both smartphones use the same chipset and are both equipped with three cameras on the back. In addition to a primary camera of 24 megapixels, there is also a wide-angle lens and a depth sensor. However, the Honor device is a few tens of dollars cheaper than the P30 Lite, which has a suggested retail price of 369 euros. The most important Honor 20 Lite specifications are as follows:
- 6.2-inch screen with a resolution of 2340 by 1080 pixels
- 24 + 8 + 2-megapixel camera on the back, a 32-megapixel camera on the front
- Runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with EMUI interface
- Kirin 710 chipset, 4 or 6GB memory
- 128 or 256GB storage space, expandable with the memory card
In some countries, the device has been available for a while as the Honor 20i. Although the name is different, the specifications are almost identical. This United States variant is the direct successor of the Honor 10 Lite, a good budget smartphone that has only been available in the United States since January 2019.
Honor 20 and 20 Pro unveiled on May 21
Remarkably enough, the unveiling of the ‘normal’ Honor 20 Lite official is still waiting. The manufacturer is only organizing an event in London on 21 May where the smartphone will be presented. Both the Honor 20 and the Honor 20 Pro see the light of day that day, if we may believe the last rumors. The Honor 20 Pro is equipped with four cameras on which, and just like the Huawei P30 Pro, it has a periscopic zoom lens.
While parent company Huawei wants to appeal to as many consumers as possible, Honor focuses specifically on younger users. Honor smartphones are a bit cheaper than Huawei devices and usually have a more striking design. However, the hardware is largely comparable to Huawei’s smartphones. That is why Honor is also a good choice for bargain hunters. Earlier this year the company already released the Honor View 20, a powerful smartphone with a suggested retail price of only 499 euros.
