At the end of last year, there were already rumors that Samsung plans in the field of cryptocurrency. For a moment it seemed that Samsung would release a blockchain smartphone, just like the HTC Exodus 1. Now, however, it appears that the company is adding a crypto wallet app to its upcoming top device, the Samsung Galaxy S10.

The device has a built-in ‘Samsung Blockchain KeyStore’, according to photos that telecom insider Ben Geskin shared on Twitter. The app promises to be a safe place to store your cryptocurrency. One of the screenshots suggests that only there is supported, but it may be an early version of the app. It seems likely that Samsung will also support other popular coins, such as bitcoin and litecoin.

Exactly how the crypto wallet works are still unclear. Probably the device has a built-in, shielded chip that can’t be hacked into. This gives the Galaxy S10 better protection than freestanding crypto-apps that you download in the Play Store.

Double selfie camera on Galaxy S10 Plus

AllAboutSamsung also shared some pictures of the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus today, showing clearly both the front and the back. It is striking that the S10 Plus seems to have a double selfie camera, while the ordinary S10 only has a single lens. Behind on both devices is a whole zipper lens.

The new smartphones will be officially unveiled in just under a month. Then the next edition of Samsung Unpacked will take place in San Francisco. In addition to the Samsung Galaxy S10, the manufacturer also has a larger Galaxy S10 Plus and cheaper Galaxy S10E in development. The folding Galaxy F will also be unveiled at the event.
